Residents urged not to cross railway lines

Police urge residents not to cross railway lines.

After a man was killed crossing a railway line, Kliptown police spokesperson Nondumiso Mpantsha urges residents to cross railway lines only at designated crossing areas.

“It is unfortunate that people get hurt because they cross railway lines where they are not supposed to cross,” she said.

She said there have been other cases where residents get hurt because they are not careful.

“Residents need to be careful especially now as we are going to towards the festive season,” she said.

Mpantsha said residents that live next to railway lines need to be extra vigilant.
