Merafe hostel dwellers allege that their councillor and ruling party have forgotten about them and that is affecting them.
Dwellers representative Vusi Pikoli said: “The reason why most of us have build shacks inside the hostel is because our houses are no longer safe, some have broken windows, doors and water flowing everywhere and that’s bad for human beings to live in such hazardous conditions.”
He said the government that they voted for have turned against them and forgotten about them.
“We have no one to help us sort out this mess that we are caught in,” said Pikoli.
