A new Eskom meter called Customer Interface Unit (CIU) will in the next two weeks be introduced in Dobsonville Extension One.
A CIU means the part of the Metering Installation at a Customer’s premises that is used for the purposes of displaying information in or on the Customer’s premises and to which the customer has access.
This was confirmed by Zola Eskom service rep Mpho Rahlao.
Rahlao said this is another way for Eskom to save electricity consumption.
The same information was conveyed during a public meeting held at Nokuphila Clinic recently.
