Communications officer for Dobsonville police, Mzwakhe Xazi said police continue to shut down illegal shebeens that operate without a license.
In some incidents, liquor was confiscated and operators arrested.
Xazi said not all people go to shebeens to refresh but others go to rob people money and other valuable items.
He said” Some are not customers but criminals.
Xazi says operating a business without a license is a crime and comes with serious consequences.
“We urge the community to report illegal operating shebeens at the police station,” he said.
