‘Be vigilant after withdrawing money’

Police urge residents to practise extra caution after withdrawing money.

Police are advising residents to be vigilant after withdrawing money from ATM’s as there is an increase in robberies.

“The police have seen an increase in robberies after people withdraw money.

“People are being followed home and are then robbed in their driveways or in front of their gates,” Captain Phillemon Khorombi said.

If residents suspect that they are being followed, they should immediately go to a police station. There is also an increase in street robberies especially at bus stops and open areas. Police advise residents to walk in groups and not take short-cuts.
