A 47-year-old suspect was arrested in Klipspruit allegedly for rape and common assault last week.
Moroka police’s John Serala said this comes after the victim was at home when her husband arrived and allegedly strangled her.
Serala said that the matter had been handed over to the Family Violence, Child and Sexual Offenses Unit where it will be further investigated.
He said it is not yet known when the suspect is due to appear in court.
