Gigaba appoints task team to investigate concerns

Home Affairs Minister is expected to respond to the controversial new immigration regulations.

Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba is making an announcement in Parliament about the implementation of the country’s controversial new immigration regulations.

These include a new travel regime for children.

Parents will now have to produce the child’s unabridged birth certificate and passport when entering or leaving South Africa.

Some of the new regulations have caused panic within the travel industry, but Gigaba says he’s appointed a task team to investigate concerns.

He’s admitted there wasn’t enough consultation before the changes were made.
