Principal's proposal to add subjects declined

Plans to add more school subjects unsuccessful.

Principal Leonard Mudavhi of Forte High School in Dobsonville said during a parent meeting that he had plans of introducing additional subjects in some of the learning streams, especially for the Grade 12 class.

Mudavhi said this was not approved by the Department of Education because a school first has to apply to get an approval.

He said it takes a year and six months for an application to be approved.

“Most pupils from schools that produce more distinctions do nine or ten subjects,” he said.
