Numsa workers’ strike continues

Numsa vows to continue their strike.

A crowd gathered at the intersection of Main Reef Road and Commando Road this morning but police were on hand to disperse them as they didn’t have permission to march on this road.

Striking National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (Numsa) across the province promises to continue unless employers meet their demands.

Over 200,000 Numsa affiliated workers are demanding a 12 percent wage hike across the board, a R1,000 housing allowance increase and the scrapping of labour brokers.

Numsa members vow to continue striking on Monday.
