South Africa could face a total blackout warns Numsa
Numsa members are demanding a 12 % increase
In responding to an Eskom court interdict that power utility has obtained to prevent its workers from striking, the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (Numsa) has warned that South Africa could face a total blackout.
Numsa head of collective bargaining Stephen Nhlapo said outside Eskom offices that if Eskom threatened mass dismissals, there will be a blackout because the interdict interferes with the workers’ rights to strike.
Numsa members are demanding a 12 % increase and R1000 housing allowance.
