Two children from Jabulani flats ages four and six died on Saturday from smoke inhalation after being left home alone.
Police spokesperson Kay Makhubela says the flat they live in caught fire and it is not clear yet what the cause was.
Makhubela says the children got rescued but died shortly after arriving at the Zola-Jabulani Hospital.
The mother of the children was arrested and a case of culpable homicide has been opened.
