Makhura takes over as Gauteng Premier
Makhura elected unopposed by the legislature.
The Gauteng Legislature has elected David Makhura as Premier, Judge President Dunston Mlambo announced on Wednesday.
Makhura, who served as the African National Congress (ANC) provincial secretary-general in Gauteng – replaces former Premier Nomvula Mokonyane.
He was elected unopposed by the legislature.
Makhura was sworn in at the provincial legislature, together with other members of the legislature.
